Diantie's 365 Days to ...

Hot, hotter, hottest! Wow!. I just took a short walk and hurried back indoors. It was way too for me. I think it is the hottest of the days so far. Yesterday I did not take my walk but I got enought exercise commuting into NYC. I watched a little bit of the news and then it was off to bed. I woke up with the running nose and sneezing but right now I am feeling much better. Last night I was ask to do a write up of my accomplishments and I could not come up with a list. Two things stand out in my mind but the others are just blurs. Why is that? I guess I stop keeping track of things I accomplished over the years as they did not matter to me anymore. I am focusing more on my future so I give little energy to my past. Not much happening in the world to report.

I woke up this morning to rain, lightening and thunder. I thought, there does my day. Shortly afterwards, the weather changed so I decided I had things to do and I should get going. I took a trip into the city to take care of some things and then it was back home. A running nose and sneezing is what I have been experiencing for the past two days. I hope this goes away soon. No laundry got done but that's OK cause I am sure I can find clean clothes to wear for the week. Not sure what is on TV tonight, so it will be flipping the channels until we find something worth watching. I may even use my time to catch up on my reading.

I did my two miles yesterday and did it again today. Tomorrow is another story! The weather was hot today more than I can handle. I had some errands to take care of and got them done. I am not sure what is on the agenda for tomorrow so it is wait and see. I read a few pages from my book and borrowed a few more from the library. Don't know when I will have the time to read them all but will to do so. I was just watching Wall Street with my sister. I don't know what I was expecting to see but what I saw was not it. I will try to catch up on the food show now before I head off to bed.

Yes, it is a hot day today, but that did not stop me from getting up and getting for my two mile walk. I did a little reading and went to the library and found a couple of good books to read. I was watching Elmo's videos with my Nephew and and have the pot on the stove. I got a few ideas today which I will share with some new found friends. Later tonight my sister and I will watch a movie.

Today for some strange reason I got up at 5.00am. I never get up early so my fear was that I will not get back to sleep. I did fall back to sleep and managed to get up on time and get myself ready and out the door too. The weather is very nice outside, just a little too hot for me but I will take any day over a foot of snow. I went and got my coat and I am sure people must have been wondering why on earth would I be walking around with a coat. At least I was not wearing it. I was hungry so I ate lunch early and just eat my apple. Need to star eating more fruits! Plans for the rest of the day is to head home early and meet up with my sister. Maybe watch a little TV tonight.

I guess I am still not publishing my post when I think I have already done so. This is strange cause it keeps happening to me. Today I felt relieved that I did not have to travel with my computer. I had a meeting then it was off to an event for the rest of the afternoon. I was so happy that I was not carrying around my bags of things and forgot my coat at my meeting. Tomorrow I will go back and get it. The weather was nice and I took advantage of walking around outside when I can. I was offer a ride home and I chose to walk because I wanted to enjoy the nice weather. Now that all the reality shows are done don't know what I will be watching. First it will be to read the newspaper and then make a cup of tea and read a little. Good deed for the day was that I finally made a donation to a charity which I should have done months ago. Last week I made a donation to another charity I support. Don't know if I will approached for donations next week, I guess it's wait and see.

So what have I been up to? I had a "to do" list and got most of things done. I am still brain storming for my business plan and gettting little tips here and there. I was suppose to have a meeting but it was cancelled so I ended up going to a networking event instead since I was in the area. I had too many places to be so it was make a decision and stick with it. I missed my train home while waiting for the subway. Next time, I will walk to Penn Station if I have enough time. I watched a little TV and was tired. It is always nice to hear Jimmy Kimmel make fun of people. Yes, I miss the whole American Idol finale and am happy for Scotty that he won. I like Lauren also so either way, I would have been happy. Dancing with the Stars I missed that Finale too. Don't know what I was doing or where I was.

Today I had to take my Mom to a doctor's appointment so that was my day. Apparently I have acquired allergies! Yes, I have concluded that since my nose had been running and eyes are watery. It is no fun so I took my second tonight to hopeful wash away some of the dirt I collected today. I started reading a book and got so engrossed in it, I did not want to put it down. Right now we are watching Oprah and in between Dancing with the Stars. American Idol is over but I may miss the finale as I have a class tomorrow.

Rain, yes, it is raining again in NYC. I think the weather report said rain all week. I actually had to go out earlier today to meet someone and I walked and yes, there was a light mist of rain. Now I am on my way to meet a friend and yes, walking too. Even though I will not get to put in my two mile walk, I will certainly walk a mile today. What's happening in the world? Last night I saw John Rich win celebrity Apprentice. I was cheering for him cause he did really well and kept his cool. I think that is why everyone else liked him too. Later tonight I will catch up with the news and read the newspapers. Right now I too tired to be bothered.

Yesterday I had plans to go for a walk. Guess what? I did it! I walk a mile in about 15 mins so that is my target when I go walking. Today I got up and got myself out there for my walk again. So I proud of myself that I walked two miles yesterday and two miles today. Tomorrow is another story. The book borrowed from the library got a little scan and will be returned without further reading. I realized I have no patience to read long books or books with graphs and charts. I did not work on my business plan but I am still gathering ideas and tips to put into it. Last night my sister and I watched the Social Network and it was good. Got some ideas from the movie too! Now it is time to get to errands like go and check on the laundry.

I had this wonderful plan that I will get up and go for a two mile walk. When the alarm went off, I turned over and went back to bed. But I will still go for that walk shortly. On the agenda today is to take care of a few errands. As well as try to read a few pages in a book I borrowed from the library and work on my business plan. It is amazing how many ideas pop into my head every now and then. Too bad I don't have the money to put all of them into action. One of my friends gave me a great concept for the business I am working on and I hope my research will allow me to put into my plan.

Today I am starting this blog early. At the end of the day I am too tired to stay alert and awake. The weather so far in NYC seems great. I have no clue as to how it should be. I plan to take a walk out at lunch time to get some errands done. And yes, I will report if anyone was nice to me as well. So my day went well. I went out last night to hang out with a few friends for a while. Yes, the people in the restaurant were nice to me.

Again no rain today; this is wonderful. I had a busy day. A few errands to take care of and a couple of meetings. My niece invited me to go to see her received a certificate for excellent school work. The presentation was in Brooklyn and a trip for me. The event was good and the auditorium was packed. Lots of parents and siblings turned out for the event. The music was good too. The ride home was torture as I had to stay awake and make sure I did not miss my stop. Right now I am exhausted and still have a few more things to get done before I call it quits. I almost forgot to thank the people who were nice to me today. I had to send an e-mail and needed an internet connection and someone in Starbucks helped me. She also give me directions as to which train to take to get to my niece's event. While on the train, a rider heard me talking on the phone to my niece about which subway stop I was close to. I was clueless as to where I was going and the rider told me where to get off, Thanks to both of you ladies for helping me out. New York City does have nice people!

No Rain, yeah! But for long is the question. I had a class this morning and it rank among the top five I have attended relating to business. I am on my way to another one and I am sure it will be good. I spent part of my day educating myself and networking. I like to talk to small business people about their businesses. There are so many entrepreneurs here in NYC and I feel they are multiplying everyday.

Rain and more rain here in NYC. I was hoping that it would stop but it did not. Today was the first day in the year that I decided to wear a skirt suit and had to try real hard to stay dry as I moved around in NYC. I had more events on my calendar than I can handle and to cancel a few but there was no way I could do it all in this weather. I learnt a lot of new things today and very proud of my new found knowledge. I also had sometime to network with a few friends and it is always good to see my friends and catch up.

Raining in NYC; actually it will be raining in NYC all week. There goes all the plans of being outside. I was on Facebook earlier today looking for something and I stumbled upon some pictures of me that were taken at an event that I attended a few weeks ago. I have to say that the photographer did a fabulous job. It is rare that I take a picture in public and it looks good. OK, there was just one fault. The picture shows me with bags under my eyes and I don't have any. Otherwise for an old lady, I have to say I looked good! This picture is a keeper. Yesterday we got a surprise visit from my relatives from Los Angeles who were in NY. It was a surprise to get the phone call saying that we are in Long Island and want to stop by for a few minutes. It is a good thing we had food to feed them or else it would have been snacks. I had some plans to get a few things done today but it does not seem like my plans will work out. My agenda is filled for tomorrow and no more room for anything else. Last night I fell asleep through Celebrity Apprentice so I did not get to see how the tasks were executed. I am sure next week I will see repeats.

It is interesting the little things you observe when you catch a late night TV show. Today it was up early and off to take the train in NYC. I had a few things to take care of and got them done. Then it was off to take off other errands in my own neighborhood. I have a load of laundry in washer and I think it should be done by now. Tonight my plans are to watch celebrity apprentice and a few of the cooking shows.

Errands to do and my way out to start this task. The kids already came over and had their play time. Not much running around with them. It is a little overcast outside now so I am hoping that it is not cold. I think we are all tired of the cold and want some nice weather so we can all run around outside.

Yes, I am getting old and forgetful too. I start to write my blogs early in the day then forget to publish them. Oh well. Today is Friday the 13th, yes it is. I was planning on going out tonight to meet friends but I stayed home instead to watch Shark Tank. yes, I am a little obsess with the show. I learnt a thing or two too. How was my day? I had my usual customer service issues now I am convinced that I have to write a book about customer service. Seriously. I think customer service is going down the drain and it has to stop. The weather was nice and I enjoyed my walk home taking in the fresh air. Next I will read the newspapers and take a little nap before the news comes on. Tomorrow, I am not sure what is on the agenda. I may go into NYC or I may not. It is a wait and see.

Back into NYC today. What are the odds of running into someone you will meeting later at a train station? It gets better? The train station where you met the person is not part of your daily commute. In fact, it is the opposite direction to where you would be heading. It gets better. You both get on the same train headed to the same neighborhood. Wow! Yes, this happened to me. Co-incidence, maybe. When the LIRR was diverted, I ended up in Time Square and this is what happen to me. My day was a good one. I took a walk to the post office and took in some of the nice weather out there.

Nice sunshine weather here in New York. No trip into NYC as I had plans to do things here in Long Island. I accomplished what I set out to do so I can say mission accomplished! Tomorrow it is back into NYC to take care of errands there. I had these other plans of going to the dry cleaners but did not make it there so that chore is now deferred to weekend. My nephews came over so when they are here we have to do our usual play things. One of them is to watch Big Comfy Couch. The little kid knows how to use the mouse and how to make the images small and large. Wow, I did not know what a computer was when I was 2+. My nephew is also learning his ABCs and he is doing well. He misses a few letters but for the most part, he gets it. He also recognizes letters and he knows how to count to 10. Hide and Seek, is the favorite thing to do when they come to visit, but good old auntie get tired easily. So what is happening in the world? The Mississippi River is over flowing. Not a good thing for people affected by this. I have to say that living in New York has so many benefits. Yes, it is crowded but I would rather be on a train with a group of people than on a highway where I am the only driver. Dancing with the Stars lost Romeo last night and I liked him. I think Kristie Alley is doing so well. I want to be that active when I am 60. No kidding!

No trip into NYC for me today so I escaped the mess of the LIRR. The weather was fabulous and I was able to get out and around without a coat or jacket and it felt great. I must say that by evening the temperature dropped so I to closed up the windows quickly. I had a few errands to get done today and mission accomplish. Filing paperwork is not my favorite thing but I had my record keeping to take care of and got that done too. Right now I am watching Nightline and it is time to shut down until tomorrow. I am planning on attending a seminar so I hope I am able to do so.

For those of us who use the LIRR, the last thing we needed to hear last night was that the commute into NYC will be a challenge. Well it was. I tried to take a different route into Penn Station and quickly learnt that it pays to just wait for a less crowded train to get there. The weather here in NYC is sunshine and warm. I promised to volunteer for a charity so that is why I am here NYC and that is what I will be doing soon. So am I the only person that buys a product and expects it to function as stated? I guess so! I was just speaking to customer service about a product I bought and told the person the product is not delivering on what it says it will do and does that make sense? Believe it or not but the customer service representative told me it makes sense that the product does not work. I could not believe my ears. I have to find another way to deal with my problem. It is sad that customer service representatives take the heat in these situations but who else should you be complaining to? Any suggestions?

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers. Plans for today are that we are taking our mother out for lunch and then do a little laundry. Mission accomplish as both got done today. The place was nice and the meal was good. We went to Orchid in Garden City which is a nice little place and not crowded. My next blog will be a food blog. I love the food network and I love to see the various challenges. Right now I watching Celebrity Apprentice. I recall last week I was watching Celebrity Apprentice when the trailer flashed across the screen that the president will speak to the nation. I remember being a little on edge wondering what had happen. A week later the world has changed.

Volunteer day is today. Self Magazine had a work-out session in Central Park and I volunteered to hand out information for Women's Education Project (WEP). It was a gorgeous day and it was my first time attending this event and hopefully I will be able to do it again next year. Yes, I am tired but not too tired to watch the Kentucky Derby. I did not have a favorite horse but it was good to watch. Groceries got done and that was it. I stayed up to watch a cute movie and caught a little bit of the news.

Yes it was indeed a nice day today. I took a little walk to run some errands like go to the post office and find a bank. It is amazing the things you discover when you stroll around in unfamiliar territory. I am a little tired so I don't have not much energy to write more. Tomorrow I am volunteering for charity so I should have some exciting news to share.

It's raining again here in New York City. Um! I have to re-think whether I am going to the get together tonight. It is always a hassel to travel around in the rain. Yes, I was able to get up this morning and I was not exhausted. Maybe it's because I have a lot of little things to take care of today.

I fell asleep on the sofa yesterday and could not get myself up this morning. Lack of exercise is getting to me and I really need to do something about it. I had a few errands to take of and managed to get most of them done. I made a plan to do a little laundry everyday until I get rid of the colored clothes that are looking at me each time I go into my room. Tomorrow I won't get any done as I made plans for the evening but I will try to continue on the other days. This weekend I have no time for errands as I am volunteering for an event and I have to be there. What is happening in the world? In America, I like to say that, a levee breached in Wisconsin. Not a good thing for those people. News is on now as I try to write this blog. Kendra was sent home form Dancing with the Stars. I think she did really well last night.

Today was a day for the whole world to take in the news and have it all sink in. My day was a little busy. I had a conversation with a fellow entrepreneur and he was very supportive. It looks like I did not hit publish for my blog post yesterday. Today, I am little tired and need to go jump in the shower before I take on my day. Lots of other errands to get today as well. Yes, the laundry is included as well as washing my hair. There goes my beautiful blow out! The TV is actually off. Usually the radio is blasting in the kitchen and the TV is playing in the living room. No such thing today. Breakfast is on the stove and yes, it is a little late but I don't like to skip it. So how did my day go? Busy day as expected when I first started to write this and so it was. I got most of my tasks done and happy about it too. Loyalty - what does this mean to you? To me it means exactly what it says. So why do some people decide not to be loyal? Many reasons exist but at all times, disloyalty is not a good thing in my opinion. I was just watching Celebrity Apprentice when the trailer flash that the President will address the nation. Speculation is that Osama Bin Laden is dead according Fox News but we shall see after the president speaks. Wow!

I went to the Bowery Wine Company last night to join in the birthday celebrations of a fellow networking buddy. It was the first time I was there and it is a nice place. The prices were good and so was the food. Yes, I am definitely going back. Today is errands day as usual and things have to get done; otherwise, we won't eat. I went to Macys to check out an item I saw in the circular and it was a disappointment. I ended up buying something else which I was very satisfied with. The Royal Wedding reruns has been the theme for the TV viewing so for those of us who did not see it all on Friday, this was our turn. Yes, I took a peek at the pictures on-line as well. The kids came over as usual to join us for breakfast and play. I did not do much running behind the kids but I need to get myself out there and get some exercise.
