Diantie's 365 Days to...

I can't believe that I got up early this morning.  Well there were lots of errands to get done so I had to get going.  I also had some time to watch a movie too.  Now the day is almost over and I trying to get a few things done like check e-mails etc before I call it quits for the day.  I am planning to watch the Next Iron Chef tonight and I just realized that my computer's clock is wrong even though I just set the correct time.  Oh well I will get to it later. Not much else to add.  I want to finish reading my book and I borrowed another one from the library.  I did not get around to buying the new books I wanted but I will wait a little while longer so I can order them all at once.

Today I had to get up extra early to go to an appointment and it was cold.  My day has almost ended and it was a busy one.  While waiting at the appointment, I took the time to properly read a book I started a month ago but never got to finish.  After the appointment, it was stop at KFC and buy some potato wedges and home to eat them with chicken I already had.  Yes, the meal was good and it filled me up.  Then it was back out in search of a small notebook computer.  First stop was BestBuy but the prices were way too high for me so I decided I need to go elsewhere.  I went to PC Richards and found the perfect notebook and did not hesitate to but it.  Right now I am tired cause I was waiting for my sister to make her purchases and she took a while.  I decided to set up my computer and I using it right now to post this blog.  I love it.  It is much lighter than my other laptop which is full size with a numeric keypad. Now I ma hungry so I have to go find something to eat.  I will probably make a sandwich and then drink a cup of tea later.  I have some other things I want to do but I am in no mood to take on a project right now.

No headache today which is good but I acquired a pain in the neck. Yes, a pain in the neck.  I was multitasking yesterday and ended up with the pain in the neck.  Not a fun thing to experience.  I had some errands to run and took care of them at lunch time so I don't have to go out later to do them.  The weather is nice here in New York.  The sun is shining and the skies are dusty blue.  The leaves, yes the leaves, they are all over the place and I have to find time to clean them up.  I have a few little tasks to take care of before the day is over.  Yesterday Intensity got voted off the XFactor.  I did not want either group to be in the bottom two and I am happy that the other group made it through.  No reading got done and need to get some new books now.  Candy, how can I forget.  We had some remaining from Halloween and I ate a 3 muskateers and it was so good.  I have not eaten one of those in ages and then realized what I was missing!

Sunshine here in New York but clouds hanging around out there.  Not too cold and the temperature should rise to 60 degrees.  Let's see how this will play out.  I have a few errands to run but I think I will do those tomorrow cause when I sit down to get things done at the computer, I don't like to leave and go do things.  Yesterday I watched most of the XFactor and I have to say it is good to see Simon being so positive and I applaud him.  Stacy sang well but I fear that the damage has been done so I am cheering for Drew.  I like Melanie too and the two groups.  I do the daily jumble word in the NY Daily News and some days I get it a few minutes and other days I get kicked in the brain.  Last week I could not figure one the puzzles and called it quits.  The Young and the Restless is playing in the background.  Next I have to go eat lunch.

Last night I did not sleep well at all.  I thought I was hearing things and kept waking up every hour.  Oh well, I guess tonight I will sleep better than yesterday as I was plagued with a headache all day.  Nice sunshine here in New York and it was a bit cold when I went outside earlier today.  Lots of things I want to accomplish so let's see if I make it to cross things off the "to do" list.  I got most of the things done but still have a few more to do.  I made pasta for dinner and will be eating shortly.  Then I will sitting down to watch the XFactor.  Yes, I read the story about Stacy and I am so disappointment because I was in her cheering section.  I will have to find another star to cheer for.

Woke up with the migraine headache again and already took a pain killer too.  Lots to do today.  An appointment in the early afternoon, pay bills, go to the bank, head into NYC for a networking event and the list goes on.  Just ate breakfast and have to go make a few phone calls. Turned out to be a good after all even though the headache stayed with me all day.  Networking event was very good and got a few tips for some others things I am planning.  Got the bills paid and don't have to worry about these again until next month.  On the way home I ran into a former co-worker and it was nice to catch up with her.  Right now listening to the news and will watch the late night shows later.  The market closed down today again which is not a good thing. I am still sticking with my view that the economy is not doing well and I hope things eventually get better for everyone.

Today is a sunshine day but it it is getting a little cloudy out there now.  The kids should soon be on there way over here to get their candy.  I forgot to bag it off and had to stop what I was doing and get to it.  Don't know how many kids we will get this year but we usually get about 20-25 kids depending on weather and day of the week.  Now I have a headache and I have not had one lately.  I remember when I used to work I would get a headache everyday and other times at least once a week.  Now I am happy that I don't suffer as much with the headaches.  Yesterday I finished reading my book and went back to other book that I did not finish.  I didn't have time today to start searching for the other books I want to get.  Last night I watched a bit of the Next Iron Chef and it was good but I fell asleep before the results so I have to tune in again to watch what happen.  I also watched the Bernadette movie which I saw before but many years ago.  I am babysitting my nephews and right now I have a break as they at a halloween parade. I need to get all my tasks done before they get back cause they require your full attention when they are here.

No more power outages today and no cleaning snow either. We got lucky as the snow did not stick to the sidewalks.  I got up early and made my breakfast as usual and watched a bit of CNN.  Then I decided I need to wash my hair but my friend called me so we chatted for about an hour catching up on what's been happening for the past few months.  Now I decided I should catchup with all the e-mails and posting the blogs etc.  I also finished reading my book and would highly recommend it to other entrepreneurs.  I definitely have to buy a few more books but I have decided which books to buy first.  My sister just returned the other books I borrowed form the library cause I wasn't finished reading them and they were due. Next it is time to eat lunch; yes, I am late but that's OK.  It just means I will eat a little lest at dinner time.

I did not get to post yesterday because I had no electricity or internet connection. It was a snowy day here in New York and most of the North East.  What a day.  I had an appointment and when I came out to go to the car, the snow was coming down in buckets.  Anyway, I made it home and then watched as it fell all afternoon into the night.  We were watching a movie and then the electricity went off for about an hour.  Yes, we had to scramble for the torch lights and the candles.  It is amazing when you have to jump into action how quickly you realize you need a plan for emergencies.  Anyway the power came back on after an hour and I was able to see the last few minutes of the movie and it play again later.  I am also doing well reading my book and I am almost done. It is time to order my next book to read.

Sunshine day today in New York but it is so cold and I am sure most of my fellow New Yorkers are not ready for this change in weather.  Not only is it cold but we are also expecting a possible snow fall tomorrow.  Yup, it's winter weather here in NYC. I had appointments today and got to it.  I am still reading my book and learning more new things as I go along.  There are a few more books I want to buy but I have to find a place to store all these books I am buying.  Last week at an appointment, an elderly man made a comment to me that he didn't think people were still reading paper books as opposed to using kindles.  Well a kindle is not in the works for me as yet so I will stick with my paper books for now.  Dinner will be pizza cause I really don't feel like cooking.  Last night I stayed up to watch the World Series Games and it was good.  It's been a while I have not seen such an exciting game.  And yes, tonight I will tune in for the finale.

Today it was up early as usual to take my sister to the train station.  It is raining here in New York and very overcast.  Rumor has it that snow is expected too.  Let's see how this will play out.  I have some more errands to do but I really don't want to go outside in this messy weather.  I heard on the news that the market is doing well but I have not had the time to look as it.  My take on the economy is that it is not doing well and people are still having a hard time making ends meet.  The market going up one day does not help the people who can't pay their bills and the small businesses that can't sustain themselves.  My heart breaks when I drive along the main roads and see all the "For Rent" signs all over the place.  It also breaks when I see the closing down signs.  Will things get better? I think so but not for the next few3 years or so.

Yesterday I was busy running errands that at the end of the day, I just couldn't bring myself to doing this post.  I had to go to appointments and I got lucky in finding a parking space.  In the evening I tried to park at a meter for my class. but unfortunately the meters were for one hour parking only.  Now just imagine me running out of my class with a injured foot rushing to the meter before I get a ticket.  You can't win.  I am still reading my book and doing well.  Learning a lot of interesting things.

Today I slept in a little but had to get up and get going to an appointment.  Well I got delayed a bit because I encountered a pest I was not expecting to see.  Then I was reversing the car out of the driveway and ran into my brother's car.  As if I didn't have enough to deal with.  Thank goodness I did not have an incidents on the road cause it would have been a total disaster for me.  I am still reading my book and doing well and I will try to read some more again.  In my profile, I will eventually list the books I am reading.  The XFactor is playing in the background and I just ate dinner.  Now it's time to brush my teeth and settle down for the day.  It was a nice bright sunshine day and I mean bright.  I always wear my sunglasses regardless of the time of year.  As long as the sun is shining, my sunglasses are worn by me.  The market closed down but I had no time to watch to see what was happening.

Last night I stayed up for a while and watched the Food Network and read my book too.  Today I did not want to get out of bed but had to do so to take my sister to the train station as usual.  I made my breakfast as usual and watched a bit of TV before heading off to an appointment.  Then I had to do some grocery shopping and later head off to my class.  The class is going good and today my classmates talked about what they do and we were all excited for each other. Right now Dancing with the Stars is playing the background and I missed most of it cause I decided to stay back and chat with a classmate.  Next I will continue reading my book.  This book is easy to read even though the print is fine; I like the stories being told.

Today I could not sleep in as I had to get up get myself ready to head into NYC.  I made it to my meeting with my friend and we had a productive session.  I started reading my other book and read everything in the beginning pages.; usually I skip all the introductions etc but I did not want to miss anything important. It is good so far and not what I had expected when I bought the book but that's OK cause I am still learning other things. My foot is hurting me and I guess it because I may had slept badly and put my weight on it.  Anyway I will try to get enough rest tonight as tomorrow I have lots to do.  Nothing interesting on TV so maybe I will tune into the World Series to see what is happening with the baseball games.

Yes, I admit I was lazy today and decided to sleep in but I am so paying the price for doing that.  Whenever I sleep in, I get severe migraine headaches and today is no exception.  And if sleeping in was not enough for me, I took a nap this afternoon.  Well, thank goodness I did not have errands to run or tasks to do.  I did a bit laundry but that was it for me for the day.  Now I catching up with e-mails and posting blogs.  Next I will be reading my book.  Tomorrow I have to head into NYC to meet a friend. I am hoping the weather will be nice and not cold cause I am not ready for the cold weather even though I have to admit that I am still wearing flip flops as I venture out and about.  Yes, it's true. I got my flip camera a few days ago and I first have to teach myself how to use it and then I will get creative and start making videos and posting them on Youtube.  If I figure out how to use the video within a few days, I may just post me wearing my flip flops.  I have to admit that I don't have attractive feet but who cares.

Today I slept in a little because my sister did not wake me up.  I used to be able to get up on my own but these days I don't want to get out of bed.  It was a windy day today with sunshine but nice.  I had appointments again and then I had other errands to take care of too.  I manage to get a little reading done but will do some more reading tonight.  No time today to read blogs or anything else.  I set aside some clothes to hand wash so I think that is what I will be doing when I am done here.  I really don't want to deal with laundry on the weekend.  I think the market closed up today and I have not had the time keep track.  Next week I am busy too with appointments again.

Today is a sunshine and windy day but beautiful weather.  Loved it!  I had to go to appointments again and did well with the commute.  On my way home, this man in his mercedes benz cut across me no signal no nothing and thank God I was not driving fast cause the man would have ploughed straight into me.  Then if that was not enough, he then jumped back over to the lane he came from again no signal no nothing. This type of action is what escalates into road rage and people get hurt.  I decided this is not the route I want to take.  I am cooking dinner which will be macaroni salad; no meat or fish cause no one wants to eat any.  Tomorrow I will make a meat/fish dish but don't know what as yet.  I read a few pages from my book and will read some more tonight.  Don't know what's on TV but I will watch whatever is on.  I had no time to do research and read blogs so that will be tomorrow.

Today is a rainy day here in NYC and I had to venture out to go to appointments.  As usual, the drivers were on edge and I am lucky that I was driving slowly cause I would have been hit at least half a dozen times.  Now I busy cleaning out e-mails and catching up with reading.  I ordered a book last week and it arrived today.  I am excited to start reading it but I will wait until I finish the other three.  Last night I watched the XFactor eliminations and it was very good.  I think Simon made a good decision to include one more person.  I was rooting for a few people who did not make it but I am sure they will go on to do good things with their lives.  I had to head back out in the rain to go to a class which was good.  I like taking classes and learning new things.

Today I headed into  NYC early and was back home by early afternoon.  It started off with a light drizzle as I was walking to the train station but it was nice sunshine when I came back home.  I accomplish a few things and proud of myself that I am getting a jump start on some other things I need to take care of.  Tomorrow will be a busy day as I have appointments and a class to go to.  I hope I am able to do it all.  I am half done with reading one of my books and still have to continue reading the other two.  TV wtching tonight for me will be Dancing with the Stars; let's see if I can figure out who is going home.

Today I got to sleep in a little late not much though as my sister decided to take a later train.  I had several things I wanted to get done today like return library books, laundry and organizing the paperwork that surrounds me.  Guess what?  I did them all.  I went into NYC today for a networking event and it was great.  I learnt some new things and my brain is always open to learn new things.  Right now Nightline is playing in the background.  I missed Dancing with the Star; so tomorrow I have to watch the entire show.  Well time to call it quits.  I am tired and have to get up early tomorrow to take care of tasks again.

I wanted to sleep in today but my sister came and wake up to remind I had things to do.  Luckily for me, I did the things I had to do last night, yeah!  Anyway I had to head in NYC this afternoon to meet someone and ended up having to go earlier than I had planned.  It was a productive day.  I got to read my book on the train and doing well with it.  A third done and another two thirds to go.  Tomorrow I have to remember to return some books to the library.  I also spend a few minutes catching up with a fellow classmate.  It was nice to talk with her and hear what's happening in her life.  Now a re-run of the XFactor is on playing in the background.  I forgot, last night I stayed up and watched the baseball game Texas versus Detroit.  I felt bad for Detroit. No late night show tonight cause I have to head in NYC again tomorrow so I need to take care of all the things I need to get done here in Long Island first.

The tasks at hand today were the usual errands and we got them and then it was back home.  I watched a movie with my mom which had seen over twenty five years ago and neither us remembered much of it.  I already ate dinner but i know I will need a snack later cause I skipped lunch today.  Last night I stayed up for a while to read.  I have three books that I am reading at the same time and I want to read them all.  One of the books I am reading is by Trump so I am hoping to get some insight.  Right now the ending of a movie I saw before is playing in the background.  Eventually my sister will change the channel to something else cause I can see her searching for what's coming up next.  The leaves are falling and now I will be back to cleaning up the lawn everyday because I can stand it cover with dead leaves.

I had to get up extra early today to take my sister to the train station.  Then it was a bust day from there on. I was busy doing research and can't believe how many hours I spent gathering information and trying to make decisions. The hard was productive and I found some connections which is great.  I had a late lunch and was hungry and could not wait for dinner.  Now the news is playing in the background.  It is time to call it quits and I will go make a cup of tea.

Well I now know I was not imagining things when I could not get on Facebook last night.  Today there was a posting on the internet that there was a problem with Facebook.  What a busy day today. I was doing research and using every tip in the book to try to find what I was looking for.  I found some helpful information and tomorrow I will start sending e-mails and making connections.  I just finished eating dinner and need to get up and walk around.  Right now I listening to the XFactor in the background and heard this voice and had to look over.  It was that of Rihanna who is a mentor on the show.  As I am also from Barbados, I immediately recognized the accent.  It's cute to hear people with accents speak.  I have one too just not as pronounced as others.

It's complaints time.  I have been trying to logon to facebook and keep getting blocked by symantec saying the site is fraudulent.  Don't know what's happening there.  I had a busy day and took a class too.  I was just trying to listen to a recorded interview and that was not going well technology wise.  The recording kept getting stuck and I had to constantly reply to hear what was happening.  I am not having a good night here in the technology world so I guess it's time to shut down shop and start again tomorrow.

Today I did my usual morning routine things. In the afternoon I headed over to the fish market to buy fish for dinner.  I made baked salmon for dinner and I just ate it.  My mother took care of the mashed potatoes.  I went into NYC for a meeting and also for a networking event. Both the meeting and networking were productive.  I like going to networking events cause I always meet interesting people and I made a contact who will be able to help me with a project I am working on.  This contact is a big deal for me and I hope it will lead to other connections as well.  See it pays to do research, and more so, attend the right networking events.  I almost forgot to mentioned that last night on my way home, my metrocard was not scanning so this young lady saw what was happening and swiped her card so that I can get on the subway. I was so thankful and will always remember this.  I couldn't understand why I was having trouble since my card at least $15 on it.  The good deed is contagious.  Today on my way into NYC, I decided to buy two separate one-way tickets for the return trip.  I never do this but I did it because at times if I am running late to catch the train from Penn Station, luck would have it that someone ahead of me would be having a hard time using the machine to buy a ticket and I usually miss my train coming home as a result.  Guess what happen?  On my way into NYC, this guy got on the train with me and he didn't have time to buy his ticket.  He mentioned it to me and I told him I have an extra ticket so I gave it to him and he saved the extra money usually charged for buying the ticket on the train.  Now will someone explain to what are the odds of this happening?

Last night I stayed up and watch yet another re-run of a movie I saw a few month ago.  And yes, I did notice things I didn't before.  No more food challenges to watch so I don't mind watching the re-runs.  I went into NYC today for a lecture and dinner which was nice.  I even ran into one of my fellow networkers.  Now I am catching up with e-mails and while listening in the news.  I tried to listen in on a webinar today and didn't get too much out of it.  Maybe I need to listen in again and focus next time round.  The market went up today but I had to time to watch was happening.  The economy is not improving so it's risky to think that because the market is up things will get better; not true in my book.  On my way to catch the train I ran into a co-working buddy.  It's interesting how things happen to you.

Today I slept in and got all the rest I needed and even more.  Then  it was up and hustle.  My cousin and her family are coming over to visit so we whipped ourselves into action and started to prepare for them.  I went off to the supermarket to do a  little shopping and by mom and sister started to prepare the meal.  We all chipped in and made a fabulous meal.  The visit was nice and it is always nice to catch up with relatives especially when you see every few years and you live thousands of miles apart.  My brother and his family stopped by and it is always nice to have kids here too.  I am brewing a cup of tea right now and I watch a rerun of "The Wedding Dress".  It is amazing the things I saw this time round that I did not remember from the first time I saw it.  Nice girly movie.  Then I watch the Kardashians.  I don't watch this show but I wanted to see the wedding but this episode was the preparations leading up to the wedding. I guess I have to tune in again to see the wedding and the fuss.

Today I slept in all morning because I stayed up until the wee hours last night trying to finish things I was working on.  I also catch some late night TV, read the newspapers and scan some magazines.  It is a nice sunshine day today and I have not gone outside as yet to take in some of the nice weather.  I spent my day doing a bit of research and reading other people's blog. I like to read blogs and try to make a practice to check in when I can to see if the bloggers I follow write anything new.  Let's see, next I want to mop out my kitchen floor.  This task has been on my to do list for weeks and I have not gotten to it so I am doing it now.  Tomorrow I dedicate to doing laundry and hand wash.

Cold is what I felt when I went outside to drop my sister to the train station.  I had to go into NYC today so out came the coat and the layers of clothing too.  On my way home I was too warm and had to start shedding layers.  I had to meet a friend I had not seen in months so it was nice to connect and catchup.  I didn't have much time to check in to see what was happening with the market but it closed up today.  Tomorrow all the little task at home that did not get done will have to be done.  I also have to plan my cooking menus too.  I missed the XFactor last night and the Yankees game is on too.  I guess we will be watching the game.

Today was nice and warm and I made the mistake of thinking that the nice weather would continue in the late evening but it didn't.  I had an event in NYC so I dress casually and did not take a coat.  Upon arrival there, I bought a  pashmina to cover up.  Yesterday Chaz survived Dancing with the Stars and I am happy for him.  Now I want to see Cher show up there and give her support.  My day was spent doing little tasks here and there.  I actually went to the supermarket twice because once was not enough to get the things I needed.  Not quite true.  I forgot a few things on the first trip so I had to make the second one.  I cooked lasagna for dinner and just ate it and it tasted great; better than I thought.  I have to hold the salt when I cook because my mother can't have salt so I am now a little unsure as to how my meals will taste.  On my way home I got an e-mail saying that Steve Jobs died.  I was touched because I felt he made a significant contribution to technology and to our lives as well.

Today looks like a dreary day and overcast right now.  I spent the morning responding to e-mails and now I am getting around to starting this posting.  Joe Brown is playing in the backgroud and the rest of the court shows are in the line up.  The market is currently down 156 points and may continue to slide or bounce back; who knows!  I just put a whole chicken out to defrost cause I am making baked chicken for dinner and probably mash potatoes and boiled carrots.  I watched a bit of Dancing with the Stars last night but not carefully enough to choose a winner.  I know Chaz is having a hard time but I was hoping that he would do better.  Today had two news breaking events. One was a pitbull on the loose in Merrick on Long Island and the other was the helicopter crash in the East River.  I was sorry to hear that one person died.  The market eventually closed up at 153 which is good.  The results are not on as yet for Dancing with the Stars so I will report tomorrow who won.

Last night I stayed up to catch up on e-mails and today I had to early as usual to take my sister to the train station.  I had other errands as well to get done and headed in Queens and got caught in the traffic on the Grand Central Parkway.  Luckily I was able to wiggle my way out of it.  I came home and made dinner and just finish eating it.  I took a trip over to the library and found a couple of books to read and hopefully some of them will give me tips for my project that I have been working on.  After I am done with this blog I have to go read the newspapers and I am watching Dancing with the Stars as I write this.  The market closed down big time today.  I didn't have the time to keep tract of what was happening but I managed to catch the last half hour.  Rumor has it American Airlines may be filing for bankruptcy protection.  Let's see how this plays out.  Now I have a project that I want to finish before I call it quits for the night.

As it is weekend, naturally I want to do my favorite thing and sleep in but not this morning. I had to get up at the crack of dawn to take my sister to the airport.  Well, guess what?  I came back home and went to sleep until noon so I guess this counts as sleeping in.  I had a few things to get done today including laundry and did OK with the errands.  Tomorrow I will do some hand washing cause I just can't put certain clothes in the washer even though there is a handwash cycle.  There was nothing exciting to watch on TV tonight and I fell asleep on the sofa trying to watch a documentary.   I actually watched Nova which was about the earthquake in Japan earlier this year and it was amazing. Right now I watching the news as I write this blog so hopefully after the news there might be something interesting to watch.  Last year I was excited about getting a Flip camera and never found the time to buy it so today I decided I will make the time and buy it on-line.  A little voice in my head says check the reviews and lo and behold, the Flip camera is being discontinued.  Yes I was disappointed but now it is just about $100 as oppose $300 when I wanted to get it.  Maybe I will go ahead and get it for the $100 and hopefully I will get my money's worth if I make a few videos and post them on You Tube.

Yeah! Today is Saturday and I can sleep in late well so I thought.  I did not get up at the crack of dawn but I got up early enough to go outside and clear up the lawn.  Yes, fall is here is and so is everything from the trees.  What a task trying to clear away acorns.  I had some errands to run and I went to the mall and found a few bargains.  I spent the afternoon watching a CD of songs and they were good; kinda like going down memory lane.  Tomorrow I have a project to work on and I want to get it done so no staying up late tonight to watch everything on TV.  Right now it is a little cold so it's time to go put on those pants and extra layers of clothes.  I am not ready for heat in house even though we had to put the heat on a few weeks ago.

It's nice to collect quotes and write about them.  The weather was fantastic today.  I just realized that most people of British heritage use the word fantastic especially Simon Cowell.  I'm not of British heritage but I am from a country that ruled by the British for hundreds of years so it's natural that I use similar works to them.  My sister took care of cooking today so we are having a vegetarian meal for dinner.  Last night I was watching the X Factor and I have to say that most of the people I heard signing were very good.  I look forward to seeing how the season will play out.  The market closed down today big time.  I am just sitting on the sidelines watching as the traders battle it out.  I like to read other people's blog so last night I took the time to catch up and read what others are posting.  I know people read my postings even though these are boring.  Next week I have to start catching up with my CPE classes so I will go back to keeping that blog going.  The CPE blog has good information for CPAs but most people would be bored to death with what I write about.

Today was one of those days where the weather was changing by the hour.  I had some errands to run today and happy did I did not get soaked while I was out there.  I made baked macaroni and cheese for dinner as well as baked salmon.  The feedback was my food tasted good.  Maybe my next career should be geared toward being a chef.  I like to cook and I stick with the recipes I cook well.  I decided to do a webinar today and it took me forever cause I had other things to do as I was listening in.  When I am finish writing this blog, I will tune back in to complete it cause I don't want to do it again tomorrow.  The market closed up today but I didn't have time to check in.  The laundry is piling up and I need to get that hand washing done.  You know those odd colors like a red top, a yellow top, a blue top ... is what need to get hand washed.

Today I was feeling much better and had no problems rolling out of bed.  I had a few tasks to take care of and got them done.  I made pasta for dinner and just ate it and it tasted good if I do say so myself.  I went into NYC this evening for an event and I was a little frazzled by the crowds.  I couldn't get use to the crowd in Penn Station and was wondering what was going on.  Then as I was walking around on the street on my way to the event, I encountered even more crowds.  I guess this is what happens to you when you stay away from the city.  I actually saw the Empire State Building but not the top as it was too foggy.  I was at Rockefeller Plaza during the summer and today I got a chance to look at the building that I was in all those days from a different view point.  I even attracted attention from my fellow networkers when I was drawn to take in the views.  On my way home, I got a little wet and was hoping that it would not rain but it did.  At least I had an umbrella so no big deal.  I had no time to watch the market today but it closed down.  Today I watched a video for some tips about a project I am working on.  I have to say the video gave excellent information and for the past two weeks I was busy trying to get the same information else where.  A little persistence paid off and I got access to the video.

These past few days I am having a hard time getting out of bed and I just figured out that it is because I am exhausted.  I had to take a nap early today and once I got up, I was OK.  I cooked dinner, not the appealing kind, but more the low sodium with vegetables.  I had a few errands to take care of as well and got them done.  Now I have a few minutes to write this blog.  The market closed up today but I didn't have the time to monitor it.  Won't have the time tomorrow either but I will try to check in to see what's going on.  Today was too humid for me and right now I have the fan on because I prefer it to air condition.  I hope to catch the results of Dancing with the Stars.  I watched a part of it last night and fell asleep after that.

Last night I stayed up to watch TV and catch up on my reading.  This morning I did not want to get out of bed but I had to.  I ate my breakfast and then took a nap because I felt I needed more rest before I start my day.  I had e-mails to catchup on and a bit of research to do.  I made time today to pay bills and still have more bills to pay.  Lunch today was a salad and it was good.  Dinner will be pizza so I have to head out shortly to go get it.  The market closed up which is good but it is still flip flopping.  My gut feeling says that the market will keep the swings going until November.  If the market goes down tomorrow, I hope to able to buy some stocks I have been monitoring.  Tonight I will be watching Dancing with the Stars.  I don't have a favorite as yet but I hope Max's little brother does well with his partner.

Last night I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning so I could not get myself out of bed.  Then again, I had no reason to get up.  I had a few errands to run and then I did some laundry.  Later in the evening I made dinner and just finish eating it.  Dinner was pasta and baked salmon.  All of next week I have to come up with a low sodium menu and a different meal for lunch and dinner each day.  Let's see how I will pull this off. Right now I am watching the Food Truck final challenge; I love the food network.

Another day where I had to roll myself out of bed.  I made my breakfast and got myself together to head out to take on the day.  Luckily, it was not raining while I was out there.  I made dinner which will be low sodium from here on until I get all the family back on track with their normal test results.  I had a severe migraine headache so I laid on the sofa and fell asleep.  Then I got up and ate dinner which was good.   My fractured foot has been aching me for the past few days and I think it is because I am on my feet too much.  Hopefully I will get some rest this weekend.  Next I will watch some TV and catch the re-runs of Brothers and Sisters.  My plan for tomorrow is to spend the day catching up on all the projects I set aside this week.

Today I slept in as I stayed up last night to catch up with e-mails and watch a little TV.  It is interesting the things I learn at night from TV shows.  I guess this is because I pay attention to everything as this is my free time.  I also found a few things on the internet that will help me with my some projects I am working on.  It was raining all day today and I had to drive home in the rain too which is always challenging.  Lunch today was chicken in the basket except that there was no basket.  It was good and I stuffed my face.  Dinner was pizza.  Because I am occupied doing other things, there is no time to cook.  Let's see what tomorrow has in store for me.

Today I did not want to get out of bed because I was too exhausted.  Anyway I had to get up and get going and that I did.  I had a networking event in the NYC and it was good to get out there and meet people.  I even ran into someone I volunteered with a few years ago.  Now I am home trying to catchup with the little things that I do on a day to day basis.  I made myself a cup of tea and am drinking it as I write this blog.  No work on my projects has been done all week but hopefully on the weekend I will be glued to the computer to catchup for all the hours I missed out on.  The market crashed again today and I have no clue as to what's happening out there.  Oh well, maybe next week when things are back to normal, I will start looking for some possible investments.

The day is almost over and now I have a few minutes to post here.  I am tired and exhausted but that's the way it has been for the past two days. I see that the market closed down but I had no time to watch was going on.  This is probably a good thing because I may have been tempted to to buy stocks only to watch them tank.  Tomorrow is a better day to get comfortable with the stock prices so I will decided whether or not to buy. I am reading one of my books for the second time as I passed my time away today.  It is interesting the things you noticed that second time round that I did not notice the first time.

Just when I thought that I was back on track with this blog, I almost missed posting today.  I just tried to post the blog I wrote for today and it disappeared .  Tomorrow I will try again cause right now I am too tired to do it over.  I had a busy day with a few appointments and it rained a little.  I started to post again on my daily quotes blog so let's see how this will go.  I actually miss posting the quotes.

This is amazing that I am back on track with this blog and I plan to stay on top of it going forward.  I made my notes as I went along but just did not have the time to post them here.  Today I posted 4 weeks of daily notes and relieved that I got it done.  I have to go to an appointment this evening so that is my day.  I will try to get back to some of the other projects I have been working on which got placed on the back burner.  I may even start posting on my Quotes blog again.  I don't know where I will find more quotes to post but it will be nice to get it going again.  Weather wise, it is a nice today so let's hope that it stays that way.  I already took care of my daily chore of sweeping out the stairs and part of the driveway.

Wow, I did not get out of bed until after 11am but I got some much needed rest.  Then it was off to run a few errands and we got lucky as there was hardly any traffic on the roads.  I registered to take a class next month so let's see how useful it will be.  I was also planning on taking another class as well but I will decide later if I have the time to do both.  I also need to catch up with my CPE classes which I have not done in a while.  I took a little nap and got up in time to watch a part of the Emmys and the food truck race.

I decided to sleep in today because I was tired and did not want to get up. We went out and took care of the groceries and I got a jump start on dinner.   I have a meeting at 2pm this afternoon and went over to Long Beach which was nice to walk around.  I made dinner which was good but a little too much pepper.  I decided to continue working on my project and managed to get a jump start which I needed.  I stayed up and watch some TV and caugh up with some shows I have not seen in a while.

I got up early again to work on my project and ran into a few bumps but got through the task.  The project is done and I am happy about it.  I made a salad for lunch which was good.  Actually I have been good and making salads for lunch at least twice a week and they taste good too.

Today I did not want to get out of bed but had to get up and get going.  I had to go to Queens to an appointment and it was a trip.  We decided to buy KFC for dinner as there was no time to cook.  Then it was back to working on my project which is proving to be a challenge but I have to get it done.

I stayed up last night to get a jump start on a project I am working and did OK.  There are still some challenges ahead but I will deal with them as I go along.  I did some laundry and made dinner too.  I watched the men's tennis final as I was cooking and it was a very good match.  I have to admit that I was routing for Novak, and even though he made a lot of errors, I think he played well.  I also got this great idea for another project so I will see how realistic it is when I start my investigations.

Today is the 10th anniversary of  the Spet 11 events and it seems like only yesterday.  I slept in today as I was up late last night watching the tennis games.  I spent part of the day doing a little cleaning and took a nap too.  I got up and in time to watch the women's tennis final which was not as exciting as I hoped for.  I wished that Serena had played better but congratulations to Sam who did a good job.

I had to cancel a lunch appointment so I have to reschedule it for another time.   I answered e-mails and sent out a few as well.  I have a few projects that I am working on and got them done.  Then got myself together and headed into NYC for the networking event.  I like to go to these events because I always meet interesting people and get ideas for my own possible projects.  I made it to the train station for my train so luck was going my way all the way.  One slip up and I would have missed the train.

I spent the day responding to e-mails and did not get much done. I made some calls trying to do some research but got no leads.  I had to pay my Lord & Taylor bill so I headed out to do so.  I forgot I wanted to go to this yogurt store in Merrick so I took a friend and we headed over there to check out the place. The yogurt was good too so it was worth the trip.

Today I have to head into NYC.  I returned my library books.  It is raining so I will be a challenge to get around but I have to do it.  It was a mess walking around in the rain and I was a little disappointment that my appointment was not what I expected. I decided to walk uptown to my appointment as I has lots of time on my hands.  I stopped by the container store and bought a hook.  It   Then it was home in the rain.  I made macaroni salad for dinner and then that it was it for me.

More sorting and cleaning today.  And we have bags of paperwork to put out as trash. I  did a little laundry too.  I am so happy that I am getting all the paperwork off the ground and filed away or trash.  I watched some of the tennis games as I was doing the cleaning and made some very good progress.

We decided to head over to Walmart early in the morning to go do some shopping.  I got some notebooks at a bargain so I bought a dozen or so.  I also tried to used up my rebate card.  Then it was home to continue sorting through the piles of paper and trashing unnecessary things as I went along.  I also decided to throw out the old magazine as well.   I am determined to get the garage cleaned up.  The kids came over and it was nice to see them and play with them.

Start of the long weekend and I decided to sleep in for a while.  I forgot I had a call but was available for it.  Then it was off to buy the groceries and back home.  I started sorting through my piles of paperwork and trashing what I don’t need. We sorted through the other piles of paperwork which took us all afternoon and made good progress.  We also watch some of the tennis games which were good.

Today I decided to start catching up with my blog and posted about two weeks of activities.  I also responded to the e-mails.  I spent the day cleaning and vacuuming then I decided to call it quits.  I decided to bake turkey for dinner and decided to start the clean up of all the paperwork I have all over the place. I went into NYC today for a few appointments.  First I went to look at an office and then rushed to my next apppointment.  Then it was off to the next appointment and I did not have time to get lunch.  Luckily I had a banana so I ate it in between commuting appointments.   I was trying to take an earlier train but got stuck because I had to buy a train ticket and there was a line at all the machines.  While I waited, I grabbed a bagel to eat and head home.  What a day.

The trains are back in service on the West Hempstead  line so I got early to take my sister to the train station.  I had a 9.00am call trying to get some advice for my project.  I forgot I had to return a book to the library so I took back two of them and the computers were not working.    I also decided to reach out to someone I met at a networking event to get an estimate for its services.  The fees are high but I am sure I will get value for my money.  I have so many projects I am looking into and need guidance so when I am ready for this one, I definitely have to get experts.

It was up early and waiting for the hurricane again.  The rain was pouring and the wind was blowing non-stop.  Luckily for us there was no damage; just lots of twigs and leaves on the lawn.  We spent the day watching TV and all the stories about the flooding in other places. The hurricane is expected to come today and we are so not prepared.  We decided to go to supermarket and buy at least bread in case we need it.  The supermarket was packed but we managed to pick up a few things and got ourselves out of there before the rain came pouring down.  We did get caught in the rain when we got home and had to wait for it to ease up before we got out of the car.  We stayed up all

night waiting for the hurricane to arrive but it did not so eventually we went to sleep at 3.00am in the morning.  It was a little nerve recking as the sound of the winds was very loud.  Update says the hurricane will come tomorrow.

I called the tree service to come cut the tree but got no answer.  The termite inspection person came unexpectedly and I had to hurry to get myself dress to meet with person.  Luckily we have no termites.  I worked on my project and doing very well with it.  I decided to go hang out with the girls and I had a good time.  I meet some people from a payroll service and they were all nice so it was good to get out and socialize.

No damage from the earthquake so all is well and good.  The two companies I called came by to give me estimates but I think I will go with the more experienced company.  I did some research for some projects.  I became a little suspicious so  I made an appointment to have a termite inspection.  No sighting of termintes but I figure why not get the free inspection for peace of mind.

I did the groceries and continued working on a project from yesterday..  We had an earthquake and I thought I was feeling dizzy.  What a wake up call this was for all New Yorkers.  Luckily there was no damage but it was a little never racking.  I got the new air conditoner installed so this is one less task to deal with.  I made some calls to get estimates for trimming the tree so let’s see how this will go.

Last day before getting on that plane home so I decided I will take one more dip at the beach.   I packed my suitcase, left the clothes I did not want to bring back with me. We ate lunch and then it was off to the airport.  My flight was on time but again my sister's flight was delayed.  That is American Airlines for you.  I took a little nap, read my book and was happy to be back in New York City.  I had to wait for my sister so that we can share a taxi home.  It felt great to be home.  From tomorrow, it is back to reality.

Today the plans are to invite my sister and her family over for dinner.  On the menu is duck, shrimp curry and barbecue chicken.  Too much food and there is still food in the fridge.  Anyway we had a few errands to run and no beach today for me.  It was raining also so we stayed home and I played some card games with the kids.   Dinner was god but the shrimp curry was too hot for me.  The girls wanted to challenge us to the wii games so who doesn't like a good match.  I couldn't do too much as the foot is still swollen but I managed to hop around a bit. We watched a bit of TV then it was off to sleep.

I spent some time cathing up with e-mails and issues then we decided to go walk around in the city.  No luck with the purchases as I didn't see anything that screamed buy me.  I did buy a little plaque which I will hang in the kitchen somewhere.  We came home and decided to go bathe at the beach.  We picked up the girls and headed to yet another beach.  It felt great to take a dip in water as I had not done this in so many years.  Then it was home eat dinner and off to sleep.

I got up early as I made an appointment to get an estimate to get the tree trimmed.  Then it was run a few errands and off to the beach to soak my feet.  I can't say enough good things about the wonderful therapy I am getting just my soaking my feet in sea water.  The rain came down so I had to leave sooner than I wanted to.  The van was picked up today so no more driving around for me. I shall miss the van but I had a good time driving it.  I spent the afternoon helping my niece with her math practice   We watched the girls played with the wii and had lots of fun.

My aunt and cousin left early this morning so I got up to say goodbye.  My feet are still swollen and yes I am angry because I feel helpless even though I am fighting to saty active.  I took a quick walk on the beach to soak my feet while waiting to pick up my aunt and her family.  We came home, ate lunch, relaxed a little, and then it was off to take them to the airport.  I ended up taking the long way and it took forever.  The good thing is that I somehow know my way back home quite well.

My brothers and their families leave today to return home.  It was up early to see everyone off and pickup my aunt and her family as well.  Some people went shopping while the rest of us stayed at home.  Yes, the foot is swollen but I am not letting it stop me from getting things done.  My aunt and cousin cooked lunch for all of us.I actually had time to take a much needed nap and afterwards wash my hair.

Today is the beginning of the good-byes and back home.  We decided to load up and go sight seeing.  The rain decided it wanted to fall and put a damper on our day but we did not let it stop us.  We visited a few tourist stops and I slipped on fell on wet grass and yes, hurt my foot again.  Anger is a mild word to use right now.  Luckily for me, I had a change of clothes because I was soaked in mud.  No stopping this girl. We made our last stop of the day, walked on the beach and headed home for dinner.  I promised to get my aunt and her family back to their hotel by 8.00pm and I did it.

Today is my mom's 70th birthday.  My goodness, I don't know what it will be like for me to live to see 70 years but then again I am not that far away.  I made plans to go find the beach and I did.  Three different beaches so far.  Wish I could go visit a different beach everyday but no such luck.  I was the designated driver of the day.  I picked up my aunt and her family at their hotel and after that pick up my niece and her mom.  The food had been cooking all day and I did not participate as I am still nursing the fractured foot.  Dinner time and everyone came over and we all had a fabulous time.  The kids played games, we took lots of pictures, then it was clean up time.

I got early and decided to go to the beach.  Right away I figured out that I was headed in the wrong direction and stopped to ask for directions which did not help.  Anyway, I decided to just stop at any beach and soak my feet in the water.  It felt great to soak my feet as if I had my own prive spa.  The wonders a different environment can do for you.  Then we planned to invite everyone over for dinner so my cousin and I headed out to find a chinese restaurant based on recommendation.  Yes, we found it and headed back home with some of our guest and ate our dinner with lots of food for the next day.

Today I got up late as I wanted to be at the airport when my sister arrived early this morning. An interesting past 24 hours for all of us.  We rented a van and took a drive to go visit my sister and stopped at the beach too.  Funny how things worked out; we found our sister at the beach.  I spent most of the day playing with the kids and yes, no running around for me.

It's about three weeks since I have posted a blog but that doe smean I have not been writing them; it just means I have not had the time to post them.  I have a lot of catching up to do so here is the blog for Augst 10, 2011.

Awoken by a phone call at 3.00am which was the airlines telling my sister her flight had been cancelled.  Yes, the drama began for all of us.  Luckily, I was on another flight so I was OK.  I met up with my relatives at the airport and we flew out together.  It was good to have some quiet time to read my book and it was nice to see everyone once we got there.

I got up extremely early today 6.00am and can't believe it. Lots of errands had to be done so I wasted no time getting to them. I also had to go to Queens to a wake and got lucky with the traffic both ways. Now I am busy trying to get my clothes iron so that I look nice and neat for my next task tomorrow. Always things to do and places to go and it does not help my situation that my foot is still in the healing process. I see these marks on my foot and don't remember them being there before. It's interesting how well I thought I knew what scars I had but I am doubting myself. It is raining now here in NY and on Long Island. Yes, no need to water the plants or the lawn. Actually I wanted to plant some more seeds for the patches where no grass grew. Dinner maybe pizza as I have too many things to do so no cooking tonight. What else? I did not have time today to watch what was happening to the market but I heard as I driving back and forth doing the errands. Tomorrow I will tune it.

It was a hot day and water is pouring out of my skin. I got up and late and had to get right to the errands. At least I got them done and don't have to worry about doing them tomorrow. I do have a wake to attend but I will do that tomorrow as it is way too hot to go out there and get stuck in traffic. The market crashed today and I was watching as it was unfolding. The president spoke and the market sank further. I was trying to find some bargain stocks today but waited too late to decide on what to buy. Let's see what happens tomorrow. Right now I am watering the lawn. Last night we got a down pour of rain so I didn't have to water. About an hour ago, the winds were blowing and it was a nice relief from the humidity. I worked a little on my project today and doing really well. At night I read and get ideas and then include them in my project. I even had time today to go to the library to get some books to read some more. The foot is doing so much better but it is not healing as fast as I would like it to. Well it's time to switch the watering for the lawn.

I got up very early this morning and I guess it was because I slept well last night. My sister took care of the errands and I stayed home and took it easy. I spent some time doing research for my project and I am always learning something new. It was a hot day today and the water was pouring out of skin. I did not water the lawn this morning as it rained last night and I decided not to water the plants or the lawn this evening as it is expected to rain again. Dinner was cooked and is already eaten and now I am waiting for my regular Sunday show the next food network star. I will do a little bit of reading while I wait. Laundry will be done tomorrow and I have a few errands to take care of. Don't know if I will work on my project first then do the errands. I guess it depends on how I feel when I wake up tomorrow. The weekend hot topic was the S&P down grade of the U.S. G'vot. The markets are up for a shake up tomorrow so maybe I should say home and watch as it plays out. I decided to make an investment last Thursday so let's see what happens to my money. The company I chose is solid so I am not worried about it but I am anxious to see which companies will be bargains.

I got up early for a weekend and decided to sleep in for a while. The usual tasks of watering the plants and the lawn had to be and I so happy my grass is growing well form the seeds I planted. Then it was hurry up and get dress and get ready to go to the barbecue. We took the kids and they had a wonderful time. I was on my foot more than I should have but I wanted to be there for all the kids and enjoyed watching them have a good time. The rain drops started to come down but now it stopped so I won't be watering the lawn tonight. I just saw on Facebook that one of my friend's mother passed away. This is so sad because I know my friend will miss her very much as her mother lived with her. There was no time to work on my project today but I will do some work tomorrow. Last night I did some reading and watched a little TV. Right now I am going to flop down on the sofa and rest my feet and read some more. Tomorrow I will try to get some laundry done and other chores.

It's looking like another nice day today. Yes, I did the usual routine of watering the lawn and the plants. I am beginning to feel like the rich woman who stays at home and spends her day doing little tasks here and there. I have to say it feels good, actually its better than good, its more like a fabulous feeling you have when there is no pressure on your shoulders and you just sit back and take each day as it comes. Ladies and gentlemen, you have to try it at least once. No, I don't mean just take a day off and bog yourself down with a long list of things to do. Give yourself the quality time you deserve. So I put my suspicions to the test and I found out that my eyes were not playing tricks with me. I had lots of errands to take care of this morning and got them done too. Lord & Taylor has this great sale and you if have a coupon, it's extra saving for you. I had to buy some things and got really good bargains. Bad foot an all, I took the car to the car wash cause it's been a while since we got it wash. Tomorrow we are going to a barbecue so there is no way we are showing up there with a dirty car. Now I have to continue working on my project to move it forward. Not much more time left in the day to make progress. The market had a volatile trading session today but it closed up which is a good thing.

The weather today was fabulous. Right now it is nice and cool outside. There was no need to go outside and water the lawn this morning as the rain did it for me last night. I am giving the lawn its evening watering as I don't want the soil to dry up. Hurray, I have new baby grass growing so the seeds I planted turned into grass. I am so happy as I did not want my hard work to go to waste with my broken foot and all. So has anyone had their eyes plan tricks on them? I am sure a lot of us have including me. I have to put my suspicions to the test and I won't rest until I verify whether I am right or wrong. The project is going well and I am determined to meet my personal deadline. I have lots of information I have been collecting for months so I need to sort through the mess and figure out what is useful and what isn't. Yes, I have about two shopping bags full of paper to be sifted through. Who knows, maybe I will find something exciting and worthwhile in the piles. Last night we watch the results of America's Got Talent and I have to some what agree with the results. I was very happy for the team from Illinois that made it through. You can feel it when the leader speaks that his words are coming straight form his heart and I was so touched. The market closed down over 500 points today. Have to go make dinner now.

It started off as a sunny day but now it is overcast and I almost want to say that I thought I heard thunder. I hope we are not having more freak storms like we did two days ago. The good new is that the seeds I planted on the lawn are beginning to blossom as grass. I am so happy about that. There are still a few patches that need to be seeded but I will do that at the end of summer. I spent the day working on my project and re-educating myself on some topics. It's a good feeling to be making some progress. I did some laundry earlier today while I was waiting for my cereal to cool. The market closed up which is a good sign. I was hoping that I would find some good stocks to buy today but nothing tempted me to make an investment. Let's see if tomorrow will open a door or two. No need to cook dinner so I will be flopping down on the sofa soon to watch TV. Last night I watched America's Got Talent and some of the performances were good. Don't know what's on TV tonight so I guess I will be watching whatever my sister is watching. My quotes blog has not been updated since April when I reached the one year anniversary for it as that was the goal. I miss finding and writing the quotes so I am thinking about reviving the blog and keep it going. Let's see how much time I have and how I am progressing with this project.

After all the crazy weather yesterday, I had a good night's rest. There was no need to rush to water the lawn this morning but I will have to go and do it shortly. It turned out to be a sunny day today but a little hot. I was asked to do a write-up for a nomination for someone I know. The easiest thing to do of course was to just put down the person's name and be done with it. Instead, I took the time to write a short paragraph about her. Don't ask where I got the words from, but I was happy that the inspiration came to me and gave me the insight into what I had to say. I hope my nomination helps her. What's happening in the world? The debt ceiling issue passed today no wonder I was confused by all the news yesterday. I worked on my project and am doing well with it too. Baby steps everyday will help me to accomplish my goal. When my brain is relaxed, I function so much better and I can actually remember things. An idea popped into my head yesterday for another project which I am definitely going to pursue. The nice thing about having friends who already have businesses is that they can be my mentors who can guide me in the right direction. My sister and I had some errands to take car of today. We bought an airconditioner unit for our living room. The task is to get it installed but I already arranged that so hopefully it will all work out. Were trying to buy a second one but PC Richards did not have the right size we needed. So there I was waiting for sister to go into PC Richards and this NY Times reporter came up to me to ask me about how I voted on the Nassau Coliseum debt issue. I told her so let's see if she publishes what I had to say. Now I am hungry and dinner is in the oven and I just finished making rice.

Today is definitely Monday and there was no confusion about that with me. I got up early, made my breakfast, water the lawn and it sat down to work on my project. The project is going well and there is a still a lot more work to be done. My knowledge is being tested with this project and that's a good thing because I have to resort things I have learnt many years ago and confirm my understanding. The debt ceiling issue is still being debated and I am not what was agreed to. The market was up but it closed down. Let's see what will happen tomorrow. This afternoon there was a storm passing and hail was falling. I couldn't believe my eyes. Actually I think there were two storms that passed by my neighborhood. I saw on the news that parts of upstate NY is experiencing the storm and that it may head back down to Long Island. My obsession is that I want the seeds on my lawn to grow so I don't want anything interfering with that. Today was also voting day for the new Nassau Coliseum. My sister and I did our civic duty and voted. The LIRR was also a mess. Thank goodness I did not have to make a trip into NYC today. Last night Whitney got sent home from the Next Food Network Star. I think it should have been Mary Beth. Bobby made an excellent comment about Mary Beth so I was surprised that she survived this round of eliminations. I am happy for Jeff that he has managed to bounce back and find his comfort zone.

I can't believe that I got up early today. Not only did I get up early but I thought that today was Monday and that my sister had already left for work. So I took a look at the time and saw my sister home and then it hit me that it is Sunday! Oh well, I guess this means that I am exhausted. I had a few errands to take care of and got them done. The lawn is looking good but no signs of growth from the seeds I planted but I have hope. We went to visit our nephews earlier today to take a belated birthday present and the kids were fun and a handful as always. My little nephew was complaining that his brother pulled him from the sofa and he hit his face. You should have seen him tell the story it was so cute. I tried to read the book I bought yesterday and quickly feel asleep. Then I got up and made dinner and now it is time to catch up with e-mails and other tasks. It looks like a deal has been reached regarding the debt ceiling. The president is now speaking on CNN so I guess it is a done deal. Great news now let's see how the market will react tomorrow. I almost want to say that the market will go up but the pessimist may have another idea. There are no meetings or appointments in NYC this week so I will be in Long Island. I have lots of chores to take care of home and first on the list is laundry.

Last night I did not sleep well at all so I stayed up and watch TV. This morning I had a hard time getting up but managed to do so before noon. Errands had to be done and we headed out to take care of them. I bought a book today and started reading it to. I also trying to read a book I borrowed from the library but having a hard time with it. No need to cook dinner today as I made enough food for yesterday and today and already ate it too. I was just outside watering the lawn again and clearing away dead leaves and weeds. I took a little nap this afternoon as I was feeling tired. The foot is doing much better but I usually try to rest it as much as I can and not aggravate the healing process. Right now the TV is on to PBS and a documentary is showing on India. India is my mother country yet I have never been there. It is on the to do list so hopefully one day I will get there. I will also spend an hour working on project. I have so many articles and notes to review and decide which are relevant for my project. So I guess I will be up late tonight.

Today I almost missed the train and my sister would not been happy. I headed into NYC to take care of a few errands and I got them done. It was raining earlier today and lucky for me it ended before I took the train home. It turned out to be a nice day even though it was overcast for most of the day. Right now I watering the lawn. Yesterday I planted the seeds so I want my seeds to turn into grass and fillup all the patches on the lawn. Next I am going to cook dinner. I am making baked chicken and baked potatoes. Well I really wanted to fry the chicken but am a bit lazy to set up the stove outside to fry the chicken. I love fry chicken and I make a good one too! I am working my project and it is going well. Reality set in today when I wrote down all the things that I need to do to get this task done. Lots of work to do and I don't know how much time I should give myself. Part of me wants to say end of summer and the other part of me is saying October. We'll see how diligent I am!

Yes it is another hot day here in NYC and Long Island. In a little while I will be hopping on the LIRR to go into NYC for an event. This morning I spent some time reseeding the lawn as I had planned. This took much more time that I expected but I had to get it done. Let's hope that the seeds grow and that my lawn looks great. I am almost finish with a project I am working on and it is indeed a good feeling. Numbers are challenging and can trip up the best of us. The debt ceiling issue has not been settled in Washington, D.C so the saga goes on. Some people are very confident that the economy will pull through at full speed but I already stated my opinion and I am sticking with it. I did not get any reading done yesterday as I got home too late last night. I did spend some time yesterday working on another project which is coming along well. It's a great feeling to know that I am making progress on my projects and can't wait to share my ideas with my friends and other people who will help this a reality and success. I got an e-mail today about women and determination and success. I laughed as I was reading it because it was funny. That was my smile for the day.

Today I had to make my way into NYC for an event and also to meet-up with friends. It is hot but not quite steaming as yet. I did not sleep well last night and I think it is because I was on my feet too much yesterday so I suffered last night. I did not want to get up and get out of the house but I had to. I am about to talk a walk over to the park to have lunch with a friend. Later on in the evening I have an event but the good thing is that I have a place to sit and keep busy while I wait. It rained last night after I took the time to go outside and water the lawn and the plants. Oh well, a good dose of rain is good for soil. I will be taking a later train in tomorrow as I want to plant some seeds in the brown spots on the lawn. I decided to use Roundup to kill the weeds and ended up killing the grass as well. More to come on this later. I have to continue working on my project but I have to work on another project which should take me another hour or so to complete. I started reading my book last night and some how I felt as if I read the pages before. Maybe I had picked up the book in bookstore and scan a few page. Lunch was good but we did not go to the park as it was too hot to sit outside. I ate a turkey burger and fries which was very good considering it cost me $13.50. No regrets! Now I have to jump on train and head uptown for my next event.

Another hot day here in NYC and on Long Island. It was a nice relief to have the rain fall last night and cool down the place so I did not have to water the lawn this morning but I did wet the plants. The air conditioner is on and will be for the rest of the day. I finished up my project and was happy to piece together the puzzle. I then decided that I wanted to cook dinner and headed off to the supermarket to buy things things. Well I ended up going to two supermarkets because I did not find what I wanted. Dinner has been prepped and in the fridge waiting to go into the oven, Yes, I am baking. I only have a few recipes that I cook all the time so I had to bake this meal. I also spent some time working on my other project as well as that is coming along well. I learn so many things everyday and grateful for that too. The market closed down today and the debt debate is still in full swing. I was watching a movie last night and forgot that the President was addressing the nation. At 11pm when I turned to the news, I was confused as other shows were on. I did not figure out what had happen until this morning.

No heat today but a little humid. It is raining right now and I am sure all the New Yorkers out there are very happy for the relief from the heat. I had a few errands to take care of today and got them done. I have a project I am working on at home and it is going well. No cooking dinner tonight as I made enough food yesterday for today as well. I have a book to start reading and may have a little difficulty with it as the print is too fine. I need to go out there and get myself a magnifying glass to read fine print. No kidding. I managed to get some laundry done as well. All the colored clothes still need to be hand wash but I will eventually get to it. This morning I took some time to go outside and water the plants and the lawn. Now the rain is doing the job for me.

Another hot day on Long Island but not as hot as yesterday. It has been overcast most of the day even though it is is still very humid. The air conditioner has been running all day as it too hot to turn it off. I watered the lawn and the plants and may considering given them another watering later on. I don't usually don't get to take of the plants or lawn during the week. I spent my day working on a project and I have to say that I made some good progress. It is always a good feeling when you manage to piece together the pages and pages of data. Plans are right now I am going to cook and later I will catch up with what's happening in the world. I may also take a few minutes to do some laundry as well. I am almost finish reading my book and have another to start. The foot is doing so much bette and the swelling has gone done but the skin is still pealing. Yesterday a got a few insect bits while I was outside.

Hot, hot and steaming hot is what the weather is like here in NYC and Long Island. The air conditioner has been on all day and even though I like to conserve energy, it is too hot. So I had a meeting here on Long Island and it was the first time that I sat outside under an apple tree to have my meeting. New experiences and interesting ones are always good. We got pizza for dinner and already ate it too. Later I will be having ice cream and a snack too. I tried to continue reading my book earlier today but fell asleep. I will attempt to finish the book tonight. Tomorrow I have lots to accomplish like getting the laundry done and doing some cleaning around the house. The foot is getting better and the skin is still pealing. Earlier today I went outside to water the lawn and the plants and I think I need to go and give it a second watering.

Hot, hot and record temperatures her in NYC and Long Island too. I had to go to meet someone today and I had to walk a little and I sure felt the sun scorching me. I did not have a ride home so I had to hobble from the train station to home and what a day to do it. I came home and had the air conditioner running for most of the day. I made dinner, yes I did and I also took some time to go outside and water the lawn. It felt nice feeling the water on my skin. It is almost 10pm and it is still hot. No reading today and I want to keep the lights off as much as possible. I have a project I need to get completed this weekend and I hope I don't run into problems with it. The foot is getting better and the skin is pealing so it is not a pretty sight. The market was down today but then again, I don't have time to kept track of what is happening. I just glanced the news and saw that the debt crisis is not resolved as yet.

I got an early start today as I had to find my way to Wall Street by 8.00am and I did it. The event I attended was good and it was a full day for me but an educational one at the same time. Then I headed back to Penn Station and jumped on the wrong train home. I ended up in Great Neck and then had to find my way back to Queens and then home to Long Island. My feet are sore and I just need to get this blog done and then it will be flop down on the sofa to rest my feet and read my book. The book is going well and I am almost done with it. Now I have to get myself in the habit of reading the Wall Street Journal again. There are only so many hours in the day and I don't understand how I am suppose to keep up with everything that is happening in world with the little time I have. This is every one's problem so we filter out the noise but at times the noise is too loud. It was a steaming day here in NYC but I did not feel the heat as I was indoors all day and the air condition was going. I actually had to put on my sweater as it was a bit chilly for me.

It was up early and get dress and get on the train to NYC. I had an event at Rockefeller Centre today but I wanted to get an early start so that I don't have to rush myself. It was great being over there. I sat down with my computer and spent a few hours typing up my notes which was fun. Then it was on to the event. At the end of the day, I was drained. I managed to get on a train and found my way home. I just finished eating dinner and now trying to catch up with my e-mails and other things that need to get done. As I was indoors all day, I did not feel the heat. Right now it is overcast outside so I decided I should water the lawn while I work on the computer. The book I am reading captivated my attention that I did not want to put it down last night. I will continue reading it again tonight. I have to go and get my clothes together for the event tomorrow. It starts early so I have to be on an early train and be downtown for 9.00am. Let's see how this will work out.

It was a hot night last night and sleeping was not easy. I did read a few pages from my book and am learning new things everyday. Today I got up at my normal time, watered the lawn and the plants and sat down to put in my days' work. I have to make dinner and have not yet decided what it well be but the pot have to be on the stove by 6.00pm. What is happeneing in the market? It was up when I checked in earlier today and that's a good thing. What's going on in D.C.? Don't know, but I do know the country will not default on its debt. Right now it is overcast and the Sun is hidding some where. I have the fan going to cool me down. Laundry needs to get done so that is next on my to do list. I had a long to do list today and am proud to say that I accomplish most of the tasks and added a few more too. No watching TV until tonight. There are plenty of other things that need to get done than for me to focus my attention on the TV.

I had a hard time falling asleep last night and I guess it is because I had a long day. I managed to get up early and got cracking on the things I had to take care of for today. It is amazing how much you get accomplish when you start your day early. I recall years ago when I had to work on weekends, I will go to the office even earlier than I would during the week and by mid-day I had lots of things done. I am a morning person but it difficult to work when you have an ache and pain. last night I did watch the Next Food Network Star and was surprised that Penny was sent home. The good thing is to go now than later when it is more painful. Penny did not have a good relationship with the other contestants so I can see the judges perspective in sending her home. It was a hot day and I had the fan going all day. By 3.00pm I had my full day and called it quits. Yesterday I made dinner so no cooking was required. Tomorrow I have to come up with a menu. The market took a hit again today. I have to try to remember to check my account to see what is going on with the few investments I have still hanging on string. I will try to get some reading done before I call it quits for the day.

Yet another sleepless night. The foot is healing but the pain come from positioning it in a comfortable spot so the sensitive skin gets to rest. Last night I stayed up and watched this crazy movie about this lunatic so let's just leave it at that. Today it was up get ready and out the door to go look for a new air conditioner. We may have found one so let's see how the measurements match up. We also went over tot he book store to look for a book and I found it. Don't know when I will have the time read it among all the other books that I have but we shall see. Yesterday I started reading a book I had for about three weeks or more. It is a very humid day here on Long Island. I have the fan on focus directly on me to cool me down. I have a lot of work to do today so I need to get cracking at it. I also want to watch a bit of the Soccer game so hopefully I will be able to take a break and catch the last half of the game. I will not feel productive unless I get a few things done. This kids wore me out yesterday and it is challenging to keep them busy all the time. One of my nephews thinks I made up a story about this dog who comes by the house that his little brother and I walk on the lawn. We have to proof him wrong before the summer is over. I plan to cook later this evening and watch my show of the day the Next Food Network Star.

Yes, I had a hard time sleeping last night twisting and turning. Today the kids came over again and are still here spending the day with us. So it was the usual games of hide and seek, pushing the cars and drawing things. I have a project to work on but won't be able to get to it until the children leave. The neighbor came by with his dog and we walked the dog a bit too. What's happening in the world? Not sure!. I just tuned in to CNN to see what is going on. In California a bridge is being knocked down to build a connection for a car pool lane is my understanding. Casey Anthony is suppose to be released from jail early tomorrow morning or at the stroke of midnight. I think I am going to wash my hair as it takes a while to dry. Tomorrow we have to go shoop for an airconditioner. we are hoping we find one quickly as neither of us has patience to go from store to store.
